Strengthen Your Body. Steady Your Mind. Find Your Calm.
Four Special Hatha Yoga Classes | Wednesdays, November 25 – December 16 | 7:00–8:15 PM
With shorter days, longer nights, and the added busyness of the holiday season, it's easy to feel tired, stressed, or stretched a little too thin. Between work, shopping, hosting, holiday gatherings, and the demands of everyday life, finding time to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with yourself can be more important than ever.
Yoga Foundations for Calm offers a welcome opportunity to step away from the rush, reconnect with your body, and find a little steadiness during a busy season.
Building on our popular Beginners Yoga classes, Join Norma these four special Hatha yoga classes welcome everyone, whether you're new to yoga or have been practising for years.
Through thoughtful alignment, mindful movement, and a well-rounded Hatha yoga practice, we'll explore how building strength, improving mobility, and developing greater body awareness can help us feel more grounded, balanced, and at ease.
Each class features a carefully sequenced combination of grounding, strengthening, and centering yoga postures designed to build stability, encourage healthy alignment, and gradually guide the body and mind toward a calmer, more relaxed state.
By learning to engage the muscles we need, release unnecessary effort, and move with greater awareness, we'll discover how physical strength and stability can provide a foundation for greater ease, balance, and peace of mind.
Explore the Four Classes:
Week 1: GROUNDING.
Feet, Legs & Hips
Wednesday, November 25 7:00–8:15 PM
Find strength and stability from the ground up.
Our feet, legs, and hips provide the foundation for so much of how we move, stand, and balance. Through standing yoga postures, thoughtful alignment, and mindful muscle engagement, we'll explore how to build strength and stability while improving mobility through the hips and legs.
Discover how feeling supported and connected to the ground can help create a sense of steadiness, balance, and calm throughout the body.
Week 2: BREATHE.
Ribs, Back & Breath
Wednesday, December 2
7:00–8:15 PM
Create space, improve posture, and breathe with greater ease.
The way we hold and support our bodies can influence how freely we move and breathe. Through Hatha yoga postures focused on spinal alignment, back strength, and mobility through the ribs and shoulders, we'll explore the relationship between posture, movement, and breath.
By developing strength and support through the spine while releasing unnecessary tension, we can create more room for comfortable breathing and discover how a steady, balanced posture can encourage a calmer state of mind.
Week 3: RELEASE. Shoulders, Neck & Jaw
Wednesday, December 9
7:00–8:15 PM
Find the balance between strength and letting go.
Our shoulders, neck, and jaw are common places to hold tension, especially when life gets busy. But releasing tension isn't always about stretching more. Sometimes it's about learning how to better support the body so that overworked muscles can finally soften.
Through mindful Hatha yoga postures, upper-back strengthening, shoulder alignment, and gentle mobility exercises, we'll explore how strength and healthy alignment can help reduce unnecessary effort through the neck and shoulders.
Learn to recognize where you're working too hard, where you might need more support, and how finding that balance can help you move and feel more at ease.
Week 4: INTEGRATE.
Movement, Deep Relaxation & Meditation
Wednesday, December 16
7:00–8:15 PM
From strength and stability to stillness and calm.
Our final class brings together the foundations of alignment, strength, balance, and body awareness that we've explored throughout the series. You don't need to have attended the earlier classes to enjoy this session.
We'll begin with gentle, purposeful Hatha yoga postures to establish a sense of stability and connection through the body. From there, we'll gradually transition into supported restorative postures, conscious breathing, deep relaxation, and guided meditation.
Experience how feeling physically supported, balanced, and grounded can help create the conditions for the body to soften and the mind to settle.
A wonderful opportunity to slow down, recharge, and enjoy a little peace of mind before the holidays.
