Babeeta Chhabra
Babeeta’s love for music began from listening to her mother sing devotional chants in the kitchen growing up. She was the recipient of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Scholarship, for Indian Classical Arts of Kathak & Hindustani/ Western Music. She contributed to the “Yes We Can” album to support youth leadership in Europe in 2009.
During her studies in Kinesiology and Occupational Therapy, Babeeta used to sing with a local band “Jazz for Kicks” in Vancouver and made a guest appearance at the Biddles Jazz Café in Montreal. She sang in multiple choirs and had the opportunity to work with the Universal Gospel Choir and produce the choir arrangement of her song “Om Namah Shivaya”

In addition, her travels as a Yoga teacher enabled her to perform mantra chants in various countries: Japan, India, Germany, France, and Canada to audiences of a few thousand people.
She recently published a book of poetry and short stories entitled “A Beautiful Void” and continues to sing for art shows and weddings in her local community. Her passion for writing lyrics and singing her songs for peace and empowerment is what she strives to share. She is in the process of producing an album of music for peace.
