Create Power, Strength & Confidence In Your Yoga

Line Grantham shares her thoughts on firing up her yoga practice and how this intensity helps blow off steam to leave her feeling accomplished, rested and chilled out!

When my mind is very pre-occupied or when my inner world is too chaotic, what I need is a strong yoga class. Get out of my head and into my body!

The intensity & focus required in such a class makes it impossible to be anywhere else than the immediate moment. We're basically doing something that’s a distraction from the stressors of life! Plus, bringing power & strength to your practice definitely has its physical benefits. When you push yourself outside of your comfort zone, even in the smallest of ways, your comfort zone expands and your self confidence grows.

The combination of body weight training along with traditional yoga poses is a great way to challenge yourself and try something your body may not be used to. Because you’re working without equipment, you’re able to transition from one move to another very efficiently, allowing your heart rate to maintain its elevated level. Also, many bodyweight exercises are considered compound movements, meaning they engage multiple joints and work more than one muscle group at a time. Compound exercises build the basic strength that is needed to perform everyday pushing, pulling, and lifting activities

And if you’re thinking, this class doesn’t represent what yoga really is. My answer is very simple: everything we do with attention & mindfulness is yoga.

Join me for this 1.5 hour intermediate flow the first Friday of November & December and bring some power, strength & confidence to your practice.
