Interested in Learning to Paddle? A Note from Tobey
"Paddleboarding looks simple from the shore, but there’s so much more to it than just standing up and paddling — and that’s actually what makes it so rewarding. A big part of what we teach is how to build balance, confidence, and efficient movement in a way that feels supportive, fun, and accessible to all.
Paddle Board Yoga at White Rock Beach, British Columbia
We don’t just hop on the board and go. We build from the ground up — starting from a kneeling position, learning body alignment, how to use the paddle effectively, and even what to do if you fall in. Every step builds on the last. And over time, that process creates something powerful — a real sense of capability and freedom.
There’s also a deeper layer to paddling: water awareness. Reading wind and tides, understanding your environment, and having the right safety gear — these are essential skills that help you feel empowered and at ease on the water. You begin to move with more confidence and clarity.
And while yes, it’s a full-body workout — strengthening your core, legs, back, and arms with every stroke — it doesn’t feel like a workout. It feels like a moving meditation. You’re present. You’re breathing. You’re surrounded by nature. Whether you’re watching birds skim the water, listening to the quiet rhythm of your paddle, or just floating in stillness, it connects you to something bigger. It’s calming, centring, and playful all at once.

Paddle Boarding in Ocean White Rock, B.C.
You don’t need to be super fit or coordinated to begin. You just need to be open to trying something new. Paddleboarding meets you where you are — and every time you step onto the board, it brings something different and beautiful to the surface.
If you’re looking to take that connection even further, SUP Yoga is an amazing way to blend mindfulness, movement, and nature. These sessions combine yoga, breathwork, and paddleboarding into a floating practice that’s both grounding and serene. It’s yoga — but with sea breezes, sunset views, and the soft rhythm of the water beneath you. We offer SUP Yoga weekly from June through
August, right here in White Rock. And if you're elsewhere in Greater Vancouver, you can find our Stand Up Paddle Vancouver classes in other beautiful spots around the Lower Mainland."
Tobey’s sessions are equal parts fun, educational, and empowering — and she’s helped shape a welcoming, vibrant paddling community right here in White Rock. Ready to Paddle Out? Join Tobey on land or water for a unique blend of strength, flow, and calm. Whether it’s a yoga class at the Studio or a sunset paddle across Semiahmoo Bay, you’ll leave grounded, smiling, and more connected than ever to the beautiful elements of our coast.
