As the owner of Live Yoga, Marnie is passionate about the healing benefits of yoga and the value of creating community. Marnie has studied healing modalities for over twenty years and is convinced that the mind-body connection is very powerful. Specializing in yoga for stress release, she believes that a calm mind relaxes the body and an open relaxed body calms the mind. In addition, Marnie brings experience in nutrition, fitness training, counselling, energy work, spirituality, and psychology, and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist.

Candi has a great passion for living life to the fullest and has always believed in following her heart which led her to the beautiful practice of yoga. She encourages her students to follow their own hearts and to explore their yoga practices playfully. Candi incorporates both gentle, mindful practices and high energy, flowing sequences into her classes.

Passionate yogi, wife and mother of two, Carli enjoys turning up the music and finding new ways to explore the elements of yoga while having fun in Hatha, Flow and Power classes.

E-RYT (Experience Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher) & Anusara Inspired Teacher™ - Carol brings a calming, grounding and nurturing quality to her classes which are available to students of all levels. Carol specializes in Yoga therapy, Anusara Yoga and Restorative Yoga. She is also certified in Thai Yoga Massage. Carol honours each student’s individual abilities while inspiring them to explore and expand their practices. She incorporates her knowledge of alignment and therapeutics into her teaching and focuses on the healing benefits of yoga.

Cindy’s classes focus on moving mindfully through postures to feel the full expression of each asana, while honouring each student’s individual body. She encourages students to listen to their own inner voices and to allow that to be the ultimate guide in their practices. Cindy has taught body movement within the wellness industry for over 25 years. She is both a certified yoga teacher and a certified fitness instructor. With her experience and knowledge of body alignment, Cindy teaches her students how to move safely in and out of postures, while connecting to mind, body and breath. “Yoga brings balance and peace of mind into my busy life. The mind, body, breath connection of Yoga brings me back to my heart, to the source where I find harmony.”

Isabel has been practicing yoga for nearly 4 years. She decided to take the teacher training offered at Live Yoga after experiencing the teacher’s seat for herself; while completing her masters in Sustainability abroad, she warmed up her colleagues’ days with morning yoga practice.

RYT (Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher) – Jeff’s classes are accessible and welcoming to yogis of all levels and from all walks of life. Rather than trying to push boundaries or test physical limits, Jeff likes to work at a level and a pace that increase deep mental focus and contribute to a greater mind-body awareness for all students. His goal is for students to feel good about wherever they are in their practices. Jeff completed his certification in Ashtanga Yoga and Hatha Yoga at the Saltspring Centre of Yoga and continues his studies through ongoing workshops in a variety of yoga traditions. “All the joy in the world comes from thinking of others; all the suffering comes from thinking of the self.”

Katarina's pilates classes focus on building strength from the inside out. Her classes start slowly and build progressively, focusing on form, alignment and moving with the breath. She draws on a detailed knowledge of anatomy and movement to help students connect within as she guides them safely through the practice. Katarina is an experienced yoga practitioner and a former professional athlete as well as a certified pilates teacher. It was a back injury that led her to pilates, which has become her passion.

RYT (Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher) – Katie specializes in calming, meditative yin classes and uplifting, energetic flow classes. She brings a sense of humour and compassion to her teaching and tailors her classes to meet the needs of each student. She uses clear, detailed instructions to guide students safely into alignment, where they can benefit most from the healing qualities of the practice. Katie completed her yoga teacher training through Open Source Yoga School. She is working towards Anusara Inspired certification and is also continuing her studies in yoga therapeutics. “I love the variety that yoga offers and enjoy practicing and teaching all different styles. I encourage students to make the practice their own and to discover what inspires them. I draw on nature, music, my relationships and the joy of being present in my body to inspire my practice and teaching.”

Many surgeries and complications resulting from being hit by a car lead Lauren to seek out a practice to help her find her way through pain and back to her true self. “Through my practice I’ve learned to listen to my body - to search through every inhale and exhale, and examine my every thought. My breath connects me to my heart. I want to inspire people through yoga - inspire them to connect with their breath and look deep within their hearts."
